President Donald Trump has suggested that the 100% tariffs on Chinese imports—originally planned to take effect on November 1st—could be implemented earlier than scheduled.

Speaking to reporters, Trump emphasized that the move would be aimed at protecting American manufacturing and addressing what he called “unfair trade practices” by China.

“We might not wait until November. We could move the date up — much sooner,” Trump said.

The remarks have sparked renewed concern in global markets, with analysts warning that an accelerated tariff timeline could increase volatility across commodities, currencies, and risk assets such as Bitcoin and gold, both of which have seen sharp moves amid trade tensions.

Economists note that the administration’s tariff strategy continues to be a key driver of the U.S. economic narrative heading into the final quarter of 2025.
