As anticipation builds for the October 8 premiere of HBO’s Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery, a majority of Polymarket bettors believe that the late technologist Len Sassaman will be revealed as the anonymous creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto.

Is Len Sassaman the Real Satoshi Nakamoto?
According to a recent Polymarket poll, 51% of voters are backing Sassaman, an American cryptographer who passed away in 2011, as the person behind the pseudonymous Bitcoin founder. Sassaman was a key figure in the cypherpunk movement and contributed to several cryptographic projects that have led many to speculate about his involvement in Bitcoin’s creation.

Other leading candidates include Hal Finney, a Californian software developer who was one of the earliest adopters of Bitcoin before his death in 2014, as well as computer scientist Nick Szabo, Blockstream CEO Adam Back, systems engineer Dorian Nakamoto, and the controversial figure Paul Le Roux, a programmer and former cartel boss.

Despite Sassaman leading with 51%, 27% of voters believe the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto might be someone else or even a group of people, keeping the mystery alive.

Could Satoshi Nakamoto’s Identity Finally Be Revealed?
The crypto world is buzzing as the HBO documentary Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery, directed by Cullen Hoback, promises to delve deep into the mystery of Bitcoin’s origins. While the documentary’s teaser hints at a potential reveal, it remains unclear if the film will conclusively identify Satoshi Nakamoto.

If the true identity is indeed unveiled, the implications would be enormous. The anonymous Bitcoin founder is estimated to control around $66 billion worth of Bitcoin, making them one of the wealthiest individuals in the world.

Speculation about Satoshi’s identity has continued to fuel debate within the crypto community. Australian businessman Craig Wright has long claimed to be Satoshi, but his assertions have been widely discredited. A British High Court recently ruled that Wright had fabricated documents in an effort to prove his claim, leading to potential perjury charges against him.

As the crypto community awaits the premiere, the question remains: Will the world finally learn the true identity of Bitcoin’s mysterious creator?
