BytePlus and Mysten Labs have joined forces to integrate BytePlus’s recommendation solutions and augmented reality technologies into the Sui blockchain.
As a subsidiary of ByteDance, BytePlus opted for Sui due to its robust support for gaming and social applications. Sui offers features like zero-knowledge proofs for user authentication and sponsored transactions, which streamline user access.
BytePlus provides a range of services, including content distribution networks, personalization solutions, user engagement tools, and data analysis. These services will now be accessible to developers on the Sui (SUI) platform, empowering them to create innovative applications.
Among BytePlus’s offerings is BytePlus Recommend, a service enabling developers to craft personalized user experiences. Additionally, BytePlus Effects provides a vast collection of over 80,000 stickers and effects for video applications. When combined with Sui’s approach to non-fungible tokens (NFTs), these services are poised to fuel the development of new social applications.
Following the announcement of the partnership, the Sui blockchain experienced a significant uptick. SUI is currently trading at $1.26, reflecting a 5.4% increase over the last 24 hours, with a market capitalization of approximately $1.63 billion.
Given the potential ban threat faced by TikTok, ByteDance’s subsidiary social media platform, in the United States, the opportunity to offer these services on a decentralized network could prove invaluable.
