A prominent Russian analyst has forecasted continued Bitcoin (BTC) price growth until January, as optimism builds around President-elect Donald Trump’s impending inauguration. Speaking to Russia’s Business Gazeta, Leonid Delitsyn, an analyst at Finam, attributes BTC’s price rise to American investors eyeing Trump’s potential crypto-friendly policies.
Bitcoin Rally Expected Until Trump’s Inauguration
Delitsyn believes the ongoing price surge is driven by “expectations” that Trump will ease cryptocurrency regulations come January. He explained, “If the principle of buying on expectations applies here, this growth momentum won’t wane until Trump’s inauguration.” The expert attributes further growth to indications of Republican Party dominance in the U.S. House, which could support Trump’s agenda without “resistance.”
Market Sentiment Positive Among Russian Traders
Saratov-based crypto investor Dima shared his optimism with Cryptonews.com, noting he and fellow traders remain “positive” as BTC nears the $90,000 mark.
Medium-Term Growth Projections Amid Regulatory Changes
Another Finam analyst, Nikita Stepanov, suggested Trump’s presidency could positively impact crypto in the medium term. Stepanov noted Trump’s plans to use Bitcoin to address the U.S. national debt, which could bolster market interest.
However, Russian financial experts have urged caution. Lazar Badalov, Associate Professor at the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, warned that Bitcoin’s sharp rises are often followed by “serious declines.” Badalov explained, “The current optimism is primarily rumor-driven, with investors hoping for favorable policies under Trump. But sharp increases often lead to sharp falls, so the market may correct after this peak.”
Risks and Volatility in the Bitcoin Market
Badalov also highlighted risks for Russian investors, emphasizing Bitcoin’s volatility and warning that crypto transactions could lead to significant losses if assets depreciate before sale.
