Hong Kong crypto broker Victory Securities announced plans to introduce virtual asset structured products for professional investors by the close of the year, offering specialized products that enhance yields on stablecoins. The broker has also secured regulatory approval from the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), positioning itself as the first licensed broker in Hong Kong to market cash-settled virtual asset structured products to professional clients.
Structured Products Target Yield Optimization and Risk Diversification
Victory’s new structured crypto products aim to provide customized returns by leveraging the performance of individual or multiple cryptocurrencies. These products are tailored for investors seeking higher returns and strategic diversification, such as through arbitrage. Across the globe, the demand for structured crypto products is expanding, signaling the integration of digital assets into advanced investment strategies. In the U.S., Grayscale Investments provides crypto exposure through trusts, while platforms like OKX have crafted structured products for varying risk appetites.
Kennix Chan, Executive Director of Victory Securities, highlighted the current need for strategic investment products in the virtual asset market, stating, “The regulatory green light for Victory Securities to market virtual asset structured products signifies an important step forward for Hong Kong to build a comprehensive virtual asset ecosystem.”
Hong Kong’s Accelerated Licensing for Virtual Asset Platforms
Hong Kong has been ramping up its efforts to foster its virtual asset sector. The SFC has recently expedited the licensing process for Virtual Asset Trading Platform (VATP) applicants with provisional approvals, targeting the issuance of its first official licenses by year-end. Additionally, HKEX, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange operator, will launch benchmark indices for Bitcoin and Ethereum starting November 15, further reinforcing Hong Kong’s standing as Asia’s leading digital asset hub.
