With the U.S. midterm elections only days away, crypto-focused political action committees (PACs) are rallying in support of Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz as he faces Democratic contender Colin Allred. As early voting progresses, crypto-affiliated PACs are contributing significantly to Cruz’s re-election campaign.

According to Federal Election Commission (FEC) records, as of October 24, the Bitcoin Voter PAC has allocated nearly $30,000 for digital ads in Cruz’s favor.

Bitcoin Voter PAC Backs Cruz for Texas Senate

The Bitcoin Voter PAC, a pro-Bitcoin group established by mining industry leaders, has actively endorsed Cruz. The PAC aims to educate voters on Bitcoin’s benefits and has raised $65,000 for these efforts. Alongside Cruz, the PAC also supports Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and Pennsylvania Senate candidate Dave McCormick.

Polling suggests a tight race in Texas, with Cruz and Allred neck-and-neck. Since early voting opened on October 21, over 2.8 million Texans have cast their ballots—about 15.1% of the state’s registered voters.

Cruz has been vocal about his pro-crypto stance, frequently advocating for reduced restrictions on Bitcoin mining in Texas. He has highlighted cryptocurrency’s potential to boost job creation, support entrepreneurship, and hedge against inflation.

“Enjoyed sitting down with @DigitalChamber and @rftylerpage to talk about the power of cryptocurrency to generate new jobs, encourage entrepreneurship, hedge against inflation, and present new opportunities,” Cruz shared on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Allred, currently representing Texas’ 32nd Congressional District, has taken a more conservative stance on digital assets. Although he supported the Financial Innovation and Technology for the 21st Century Act, he voiced concerns over crypto’s potential misuse in financing illicit activities. This has drawn more support from digital asset proponents toward Cruz.

Crypto Industry Giants Add Support to Pro-Cruz PACs

The Bitcoin Freedom PAC, another pro-crypto committee, recently donated $350,000 to the Truth and Courage PAC, explicitly endorsing Cruz. Prominent crypto figures, including Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Gemini co-founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, have each donated the maximum allowable $3,300 to Cruz’s campaign.

On the other hand, Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen, a major backer of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, donated $3,300 to Allred’s campaign.

Across the nation, crypto PACs are heavily investing in key races. For instance, Defend American Jobs and Protect Progress PACs have launched media campaigns supporting candidates across party lines. Additionally, the Commonwealth United Fund is financially backing Republican John Deaton’s campaign as he challenges Senator Elizabeth Warren in Massachusetts.

Texas in the National Spotlight

On October 25, Texas emerged as a focal point in the election season as both Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump hosted campaign events there. Trump plans to appear on Joe Rogan’s podcast in Austin, while Harris will attend a rally in Houston, featuring celebrity appearances by Beyoncé and Willie Nelson.
