Trump Raises $25M for Election Campaign at Bitcoin 2024 Conference

In a surprising turn, former President Donald Trump, who once criticized Bitcoin, managed to raise $25 million at the Bitcoin 2024 conference held in Nashville. This substantial fundraising event was confirmed by David Bailey, CEO of Bitcoin Magazine.

Successful Fundraising Event at Bitcoin Conference

Most of the funds were raised during a fundraiser at Nashville’s Music City Center, following Trump’s keynote speech. The event was his “second largest fundraiser ever,” with contributions coming from both industry professionals and high-profile crypto investors, often referred to as “whales” or “OGs.”

Celebrities and Crypto Figures Support Trump in Nashville

The Republican presidential nominee also held another fundraiser in Nashville, where ticket prices soared to $844,600, and a photo opportunity cost at least $60,000. Notable attendees included Gemini co-founders Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, and celebrities such as Kid Rock, Jake Paul, and Billy Ray Cyrus.

Crypto Industry Mobilizes Support for Trump

David Bailey, the conference organizer, previously stated that the industry aimed to raise $100 million and mobilize over 5 million voters for Trump’s re-election campaign. This underscores the growing support for Trump within the crypto sector.

Previous Digital Token Donations

Before the conference, Trump had already raised over $4 million through various digital tokens, including Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, and USDC. The Winklevoss twins were among the top donors, each contributing 15.57 Bitcoin, valued at over $1 million at the time.

Trump’s Changing Stance on Bitcoin

Despite his current fundraising success within the crypto community, Trump had previously criticized Bitcoin. In 2019, he declared he was “not a fan” of Bitcoin, dismissing its value as “based on thin air” and raising concerns about its use in illegal activities.

Campaign Fundraising Milestone

With this latest fundraising achievement, Trump’s campaign has now amassed a total of $216 million, with $128 million cash in hand, according to Federal Election Commission data.
