Why is Crypto Up Today?

The global cryptocurrency market capitalization has increased by 2.3% over the past 24 hours, reaching $2.52 trillion. Total crypto trading volume over the last day stands at $116 billion. A large majority of the top 100 coins are showing gains today, with only three coins in the red at the time of writing.

AAVE and TONCOIN dropped 1.8% and 1.4%, now trading at $101.5 and $7.33, respectively.
LEO is the third red coin, down 0.6% to $5.84.

On the other hand, the day’s best performer is Arweave (AR), which saw a 12.8% rise to $31.7. XRP and Injective (INJ) have also seen double-digit increases of 11.2% and 11.1%, to $0.6037 and $26, respectively.

Top 10 Coins by Market Cap

Among the top 10 coins by market cap, all but three are green. Two of the exceptions are stablecoins with marginal changes. Toncoin is the only top 10 coin that is in the red, down just below 1.4%. XRP is the day’s best performer with the largest increase over the past day.

Solana (SOL) is up 3.75% to $161.87.
Bitcoin (BTC) appreciated 3.7%, currently trading at $65,757.
Ethereum (ETH) recorded a 2.64% increase, now changing hands at $3,504.

The market appears to be reacting positively to US presidential election speculation, the upcoming trading of spot Ether ETFs, net positive BTC ETF inflows, and the reduction in selling pressure as Mt. Gox sold all its BTC.

Polygon Labs has announced that its next generation of zero-knowledge proving systems, Plonky3, is now production-ready and open-source licensed. Plonky3 allows developers to build bespoke proving systems for zkVM or zkEVM chains tailored to their use cases.

Plonky3, designed to be un-opinionated, provides developers with a variety of choices to build use-case-specific zkVMs and zkEVMs, extending the ZK-provided cryptographic security.

Nifty Gateway Hosts Auction for Final NFT Collection of Late Comic Artist José Delbo

The late legendary comic artist José Delbo, known for his work on Batman, Superman, and 101 Dalmatians, is releasing his final artwork collection on Nifty Gateway Studio on July 23. Delbo passed away in 2024 at the age of 90. His final NFT collection, “The Masters Collection,” includes 10 unique 1-of-1 pieces celebrating artists like Van Gogh, Frida Kahlo, Michelangelo, Salvador Dali, and Paul Cézanne. The auctions will be held over four days in a traditional timed auction format, with winners receiving a museum-quality, one-of-a-kind print of the artwork.
